Gary and Donna’s wedding had a few ‘first timers’ in store for me. It’s the first time I’ve photographed a western wedding where there were no dancing during the reception. Having a magician as entertainment for the evening was also a first and then, not photographing the groom getting ready. So this couple definitely does not stick to traditions and they stick to what works for them. It’s always refreshing to work with something different and new and we really enjoyed the time we got to spend with them, their family and friends. Warm, hearty people that make you feel right at home.
The magician was really funny and had everybody laughing while he pulled off his jokes and pranks on some of the guests. At one stage, I could actually feel my cheeks hurting from laughing so much.
When we did their engagement shoot, there were these geese… All geese alive seems to have this thing with me. A little scenario when I was four caused this life long love hate relationship between myself and these feathered friends. I LOVE animals. But geese know that I fear them since the age of four. They smell it and they have made me their target. I tell you no lies. And all I want to do is be their friend. I think the scene that played out between myself and the ‘angry birds’ caused quite the entertainment to Gary and Donna.
Donna too is a huge lover of animals and like myself, has a little mini zoo at her home. A combination of dogs, cats and birds.
Donna decided on an elegant setting of whites, crystal, a slight touch of silver and glass for her table settings. It made for a beautiful stylish look.
Mention has to be made of the cute little flower girls. They really had the attention of almost everybody with their little antics… Tons of giggles, cute little expressions and then showering someone with confetti. Their mom’s face: PRICELESS 🙂
